Newsletter “Point of View” – #4

One of our partners is always reminding us of the importance of eating well, getting enough sleep, spending time in the sun every day, and exercising—not just because staying healthy is good for you (a truism), but because in the business world it seems as though the only thing that matters is production, when taking care of your own staff or those around you—or taking care of ourselves, including both men and women—is even more important, even though it seems to be easily forgotten.

The image illustrating our latest post is a banana, and you might ask, “What does this have to do with anything?” A lot, for several reasons.

It provides energy and helps with concentration; it helps regulate blood pressure, for example, by maintaining healthy cholesterol levels thanks to its high soluble fiber content; it contains significant amounts of potassium and is low in sodium, which, among other things, strengthens the nervous and muscular systems, and it also acts as a prebiotic that boosts the immune system.

Now that mental health has become a topic of particular interest in the business world, the tryptophan found in bananas makes them a great ally for boosting serotonin—the substance that promotes relaxation, improves mood and sleep, and makes us feel happier.

And for those who tend toward a sedentary lifestyle due to long work hours (especially in computer-based office work), it’s important to note that bananas are low in calories and rich in nutrients—in other words, they help with weight loss. They also contain vitamin B, which helps regulate blood sugar and emotional hunger (anxiety-related eating), and also contain vitamins such as B6, C, E, and B9, as well as minerals like iron (which helps prevent anemia), magnesium, and phosphorus.

It contains 1% fat, 6% protein, and 93% carbohydrates.

No, we’re not nutrition experts, but we follow COMEFRUTA, and besides eating healthy, we’re learning a lot.

What a bargain.

Bananas are also one of the Canary Islands’ main agricultural products, with an average annual production of nearly 400,000 tons, accounting for 60% of European production; however, production has been affected in recent years by price fluctuations and the impact of severe weather.

Information regarding the production and marketing of Canary Island bananas can be found at ASPROCAN, which represents 100% of the producers of this crop. ASPROCAN is the first and only agricultural sector in Spain to bring together, under a single representative body, both small and large producers of the same crop.

Grants are awarded under the POSEI program, which aims to address the challenges of extreme remoteness—a concept that is essential to understand the island’s economy.

The importance of intangibles in local businesses is also growing. That is why we believe it is important to dedicate one of our posts to explaining “THE BASES OF UNDERSTANDING WHAT IS INTANGIBLE” and how to assess the value of what our creations produce.

Continuing with the ideas discussed about the future in the previous issue, we bring up “RAY KURZWEILL AND THE SINGULARITY.”

We also delve into something that is just as necessary in the past, present, and future (at least the near future): money. To do so, we dissect a tool for obtaining it, and that is why we ask ourselves, “WHAT IS A PARTICIPATORY LOAN?

Finally, “SINGULAR TALENTS,” our own business line dedicated to talent: actors, actresses, screenwriters, and directors—unique individuals who also write or develop their creative talents through their distinctive gifts.

That’s it for this week’s posts.

A year later, we’ve reunited at SOUTH SUMMIT—where we presented SUMMAX last year—attending an interesting talk on AI applied to startups, meeting with companies interested in learning about “The Canarian Singularity,” and exploring other potential partnerships, which we’ll keep you updated on.

In short, a large number of people looking to move their businesses forward with the help of the best options.

On the agenda for next week:

  • First off: Our partnership with COOIDI, a consulting firm that supports tech companies and disruptive projects through grants, subsidies, and tax breaks—particularly in R&D&I—aligns with our philosophy, and we’ll be sharing details about future projects very soon.
  • First up: METHODS FOR VALUING INTANGIBLE ASSETS, which we also mentioned in another newsletter and which we’ll explore here for everyone’s benefit.
  • Second: PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT 2, a detailed explanation of the clauses we outlined in another introductory post.
  • For dessert: A reflection—intended to bring a smile to your face—on the “EMPRESAURIOS,” a special, though not unique, breed of businesspeople who believe that the past takes precedence over the present and that, of course, this will remain true in the future. Their future, that is, because no one else’s matters.

On this day (June 6), the painter Velázquez was born (1660), as was Víctor Mora, a comic book writer and novelist (1931); the first frozen foods went on sale in the U.S. (1929); the D-Day landings took place (1944); The Beatles recorded their first session at Abbey Road with four songs (including “Love Me Do”) (1962), Elton John released “Empty Sky,” his first studio album (1969), Israel invaded Lebanon (1982), “Tetris” was released (1984), a movie referencing the Devil’s number, 6/6/6, premiered: The Prophecy (2006), Twitch was launched (2011), and every year we celebrate International Stolen Kiss Day, so let your spontaneity and romance run wild… and let love flow—between men, women, boys, and girls, plants, animals, and any combination you deem appropriate—but always with respect and consent.

Of course, with AI too—if you can get it to agree. If you manage to capture the moment, send a photo.

And as Porky Pig would say: That’s all, folks!
