Last week we published a post in our newsletter where we outlined some details about SUMMAX with a comparison of the current situation of networks. You can read it HERE.
A raíz de su publicación se dieron diferentes reacciones, entre ellas la de BÁRBARA REGINA RIBEIRO, gustándonos tanto que se ha convertido en una colaboradora.
If you have LinkedIn, you can read it HERE, and if you are not on that network, we have transcribed what she wrote:
- THE NETWORK THAT WILL TRANSFORM THE MODEL:
For 15 years, we have been accepting rules that no one questions: you pay for ads that do not guarantee sales, you feed algorithms that give you nothing in return, and you participate in platforms where the owner always wins… but you don’t.
Until today.
SUMMAX was born from an idea as simple as it was disruptive:
- If you don’t win, we don’t win.
And it’s completely free:
- No upfront payments.
- No empty “visibility.”
- No metrics that are useless for your business.
SUMMAX changes the equation: value returns to people, profit returns to brands, and risk disappears.
It’s not just another social network. It’s the alternative.
We asked our friends and family to do us a favor by sending the post and what BÁRBARA had published to people who didn’t know us, who were far removed from what we do, or who had no connection to this topic, with the aim of understanding how it is perceived from the outside, getting feedback, and seeing how we could improve what we have been doing for some time.
We will respond later.
What is certain is that it has helped us refine our work.
Everyone’s opinions are always worth considering, even if they are not the best, because they always help.
These are some of the responses we received. We asked respondents to provide only their age, profession, and/or education.
Here they are for us to reflect on:
I think it’s an interesting app. Anything that helps new businesses or projects is always good, and if they’re cheap, even better, haha. The fact that you only “pay” if you earn something is very interesting.

In my opinion and from what I understand, the text makes many references to companies promoting and selling their products (I think that’s fine, the idea is clear and it sounds good).
But if we include social media…
We have WALLAPOP: individuals selling their products.
Would you be interested in switching to this one? It’s possible.
The problem is the user to whom all advertising, promotion, sales, etc. will be directed. Why should they choose to switch to SUMMAX? What does it offer apart from promoting products? (This is what I understood.)
Currently, on social media, we have things like:TIKTOK or INSTAGRAM, where you can upload things from your daily life, you can make memes (my main use: consuming memes or funny content).
You can do live streams talking to people or playing games with TWITCH: a platform for live streaming, that is, being live and talking to viewers.
WHATSAPP: is for talking to other people via chat, calls, video calls…
And many others.
It sounds great for companies, but I don’t see why the average user who isn’t looking to sell anything (which is the purpose of these products, since they are the ones buying) would want to go there instead of the others.

Reading about SUMMAX, it is impossible not to recall the warnings left to us by the documentary The Social Dilemma. While that documentary taught us what some of us already suspected, about how traditional platforms turn us into the product, commodify our attention, and use opaque algorithms to manipulate our behavior, this project seems to be the ethical response we have been waiting for.
I think it’s brilliant how SUMMAX precisely attacks the darkest points that the documentary denounced:
- Goodbye to the dictatorship of the algorithm: Instead of a feed manipulated to maximize addiction, you propose a direct, unfiltered relationship between users and brands. It’s about regaining control over what we see.
- Users are no longer commodities: By committing to a shared business model where everyone wins (including users) and ensuring ethical and non-invasive tracking, you are breaking with the model of ‘surveillance capitalism’.
- Real digital health: By eliminating the need to pay for visibility or fight against an algorithm that rewards polarization, a healthier and more organic community is fostered, far from the anxiety and constant comparison generated by current networks.
SUMMAX does not appear to be just a new network, but rather a ‘safety net’ against the flaws of the current system.

I think launching the SUMMAX Network is a great initiative, with a clear ethical purpose, especially in these times when we are hurtling towards the precipice. Congratulations.

In recent days, I have had the opportunity to read various articles and posts on LinkedIn about SUMMAX’s innovative proposal, and I would like to take this opportunity to publicly express my admiration and gratitude for this project, which I consider both necessary and inspiring.
For me, discovering SUMMAX has been a real joy and a source of deep excitement. Its approach opens up a huge range of possibilities for growth, co-creation, and the development of ideas that can transform multiple value propositions.
It is clear from the outset that this is not just a simple platform, but rather a space that promotes genuine collaboration, the kind that transcends the initial launch and is geared toward long-term, solid commitments that are beneficial to all parties.
The philosophy proposed by SUMMAX—facilitating equitable distribution of profits, promoting sustainable partnerships, and enabling any initiative to grow based on a fair and transparent structure—clearly marks a turning point.
I firmly believe that this model has the capacity to generate real and lasting impact.
I am particularly excited that this proposal contemplates the possibility of collaborating with organizations, social projects, and charitable causes aligned with each person’s values.
This connection between purpose and action is undoubtedly one of SUMMAX’s greatest strengths and one of the reasons why, in my opinion, this project is here to stay.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the promoters and the team behind this project. Not only for their vision, but also for their courage in putting it into practice and paving a path that many of us needed.
With admiration and gratitude.

To be honest, at first I thought, “Another platform promising to save our lives.” But Barbara’s comment made me think, hey, maybe these people are a little more serious.
If that “if you don’t win, neither do we” thing is really true, well, it would be a relief not to feel like they’re ripping you off just for existing.
I’ll keep a close eye on it, with skepticism, but also with the hope that, for once, it’s not the same old smoke and mirrors sold at an exorbitant price.
As I continue with my own philosophy of life: I choose to believe that it is possible. That there are people who come together to make things better and that they win because of their work and inventiveness, of course… but that they share… that’s what’s needed: sharing what you have and providing a good service.

I strongly agree with Barbara’s plan, and I think that competing directly with other networks by changing the paradigm is the best way to make them reconsider and put aside those behaviors, which in many cases I consider abusive both for users and for the professionals who are part of the platform.
The newsletter is very good because it addresses an issue that concerns many of us and explains it directly, without beating around the bush, and that’s engaging.
To improve, you could make it a little clearer from the outset exactly what you are proposing, add some real examples so that people can visualize it better, and make the invitation to participate a little more specific, so that more people will be encouraged to give their opinion.

We are witnessing in real time the collapse of the digital social contract we signed two decades ago.
What Cory Doctorow masterfully defined as Enshittification is no longer a theory but has become the operational reality of Big Tech: platforms that have gone from connecting to extracting, parasitizing both users and SMEs to maximize shareholder returns at the expense of service quality.
The recent head-on collision between Elon Musk and the European Union, where fines imposed on X have led to suggestions that democratic institutions themselves should be abolished, confirms that we have entered a phase of techno-feudalism where the owners of the algorithm consider themselves sovereign entities above the law, while companies remain trapped in a digital marketing “casino,” paying for phantom impressions and feeding other people’s AIs with their data with no guarantee of return.
In this context of data predation and privatization of common knowledge, the SUMMAX proposal discussed by Barbara, and the post in the company’s newsletter, is not only interesting, it is a critical “emergency exit” infrastructure.
What is revolutionary here is not only the technology—although betting on federated learning and real privacy is vital—but the reengineering of the economic model: moving from speculative CPM (paying to be there) to a shared success model (paying to sell) and, above all, rewarding offline life instead of encouraging scroll addiction.

After reading a post last week in the TODO ES SINGULAR newsletter, specifically the opinion of someone named BÁRBARA REGINA, I wanted to express my view:
Reading what I read, I can only hope with all my heart that they manage to make SUMMAX a reality. Humanity survives on foundations that are already crumbling, and the new humanity that awaits us needs more than this, which would be tantamount to saying: ‘we are all ONE’, and the day this damn society realizes this, real change will happen…

Regarding the post, I would say that it is an interesting idea, and I would like to see how everything fits together, such as the rewards that users can earn.
Many apps today offer cashback for making purchases, but not for recommending them, which is quite good.
If I had a brand, I would also prefer to be on a platform like this rather than, for example, GLOVO, which takes 30%, or even INSTAGRAM, which charges for ads without giving any guarantees of return.
As a user, what interests me most about a social network is the content it can offer, the advantages, and above all, privacy. We are fed up with them using our data without our knowledge and then doing whatever they want with our accounts and our information.

As the head of a small technology company, we have spent a lot of money on web positioning, AdWords, various campaigns… with virtually no results.
The idea of paying only when business is actually generated is an attractive one, and I consider it much fairer.
Currently, positioning on search platforms such as GOOGLE is a tricky business, when most of the companies mentioned are sponsors. It’s either that or be relegated to the ostracism of appearing on page 7.
I think it’s “fairer” to pay those who want to buy (via a small commission) than to pay the companies that monopolize searches and networks. And I think it’s fairer to pay the commission when there are results, rather than not paying and waiting to see…
In short, SUMMAX is a breath of fresh air in e-commerce.

I don’t know if I really understood everything, but let’s say that buying using that app sounds interesting and appealing.
I imagine that as I use it, the algorithm will show me things that interest me, but what do I get out of it?
To get my attention, I guess it would have to have a reward system, like points or something similar, that would reward me for every purchase that was explicitly recommended by the algorithm, because it would be a win-win situation: their algorithm works and I bought something I didn’t even know I wanted.
Now, the QR system sounds somewhat similar to what is common in certain apps, but the fact that you can pick it up like they do at Deliveroo sounds good and practical. If it is a social network for sales, then rule number one, which every buyer will value, is that they have anti-theft measures in place, that there are no scams or things like payments with bad checks, and that the product is original.
If a page doesn’t have that, no matter how attractive it looks, I wouldn’t buy from it.

We have more answers and will comment on them next week.
It is very important, both for launching something so disruptive and for taking into account the demands or the way it is understood, to consider the words of these men and women, knowing their age and what they do for a living.
Regardless of how well or poorly it is written, the underlying message is pure gold.
We are also testing companies and taking their interest into account. More to come soon, as we said.
